We came for crystals and found so much more! The Arkansas area we stayed in was beautiful and rich with character. We spent most of our time in the Montgomery County area around Mt. Ida and enjoyed it immensely! We have a recommendation for y'all... the Arkansas 'Official State Bird' is the Mockingbird and the 'Official State Flower' is the Apple Blossom. Consider this for your Official State Sign... "Bridge May Be Icy When Cold" :-D
Thanks to all for a WONDERFUL, MEMORABLE TIME...we WILL be back!

Looking for a great place to retire? Try us on for size. Mount Ida, Arkansas and Montgomery County have many different activities for retirees. If you are into fishing, boating or water skiing, you will enjoy beautiful Lake Ouachita. Lake Ouachita is a wilderness lake of over 49,000 acres with approximately 690 miles of shoreline. Many of our residents also enjoy the health benefits and the joy of digging for Quartz Crystals in the Ouachita Mountains. Residents and visitors of Montgomery County also love the many hiking and biking trails in the Ouachita National Forest. If you’re looking for outdoor fun during your retirement, come to Montgomery County, Arkansas.
